What Questions Would You Have About Teaching in Saudi Arabia?

• Was there a reason to worry about being being a female American in Saudi Arabia?
• Was wearing a hijab uncomfortable?
• Did it feel demeaning to have a prescribed mode of dress?
• How did the young women you taught feel about any of these questions?
• Did you have discussions about “arranged marriages?”
• Did your students show curiosity about the United States?
• Were your students aware Americans perceive that Saudi women live a very restrictive life? Did any of them feel that they do?
• What motivates them to seek higher education? Do they feel that they will be able to work in their chosen field after they return to Saudi Arabia?
