Saturday, October 24, 2015, AAUW Sacramento members and their guests have a unique opportunity to learn how research and technology is shaping the care and treatment of children with congenital conditions, burns and complex medical needs when the group is treated to a presentation and tour of the Shriners Hospital for Children, Northern California.  A special feature of the tour is a look at how 3D technology is used to create prosthesis for children in need with a visit to the orthotics and prosthesis laboratory.

Shriners Hospital specializes in treatment of children with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate. Children are eligible for care and receive all services in a family-centered environment, regardless of the patients’ ability to pay.

We will meet in the lobby at Shriners Hospital, 2425 Stockton Boulevard, Sacramento on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 10 AM. Greeters will escort members to the meeting room where the program will begin promptly at 10:15 AM.  Our special guests are the 2015 Tech Trek students sponsored by the Sacramento Branch.

Please join us to learn how this facility is a leader in pediatric medical care among the network of 22 non-profit medical facilities across North America.
